Electric boiler technology is no longer a small niche as the technology has been developed so that they are now as reliable as gas boilers. With gas boilers being phased out, electric boilers are an ideal alternative for homes already disconnected from the main gas line or in new builds where regulations prevent gas.
If you are considering getting an electric boiler fitted, you need the right sized fuse and whether your home has a single or a three-phase electric supply. Most electric boilers use around 48 amps, so if your fuse is 60 amps and you run a couple more electric appliances alongside your boiler, it could cause the fuse to blow meaning we may need to upgrade your electrics first.
Similar to having an appropriate fuse size, you need to make sure you have the right output rating too on your boiler. If the power of the boiler is not strong enough, it will not be able to meet your heating and hot water needs. We often install electric boilers with an output of 12kw, which will comfortably heat a house with up to 8 radiators, but we can install boilers with higher output too.
